Can iPod Classic 7th Generation U2 sync with latest versions of iTunes ?

I would love to get a second hand iPod Classic U2 version for Christmas ( I know VERY last minute), I was just wondering does it sync with the latest version of iTunes, I don't need Apple music support, it won't support that anyway, I would just like to be able to sync it with my iTunes library. So does it support syncing with the latest iTunes ?
