Try Malwarebytes.
CJVickery said above that clicking "not now" worked for them. I wondered that, so shut the computer down first, and it was gone when I rebooted. Maybe disabling the wifi temporarily while doing it would help.
BeeAware is an adware software that displays pop-up ads and unwanted advertisements not originating from the sites you are browsing. These BeeAware advertisements will be shown as boxes containing coupons, as underlined keywords (in-text ads), pop-up ads or advertising banners.
I'm getting the same message. Does Apple recommend a specific antivirus / malware software to install?
I deleted clicked the greyed "not now" button in the update request, but unwanted advertisements are still loaded. This avoids that I can see the expected content of pages which I have loaded. What would be a malware / software analytic tool recommended by apple?
I am getting the exact same message. Not sure what to do with it... did you 'x' it?
I have this pop-up on my screen now. Not sure what to do - could selecting Not now download malware?
What is BeeAware? I am seeing the same image that is shown above.
It appears to be related to a particularly devious bit of malware as described here: https://www.techrepublic.com/article/macos-users-beware-a-new-and-nearly-undetectable-malware-is-on-the-rise/
I've seen more recent articles stating that the stolen developer credentials this malware relies one have been revoked in recent updates, but I would remain cautious. I just came over to my computer to see it this morning. I clicked the greyed out "Not now" and it has disappeared. Don't see any signs it downloaded or installed anything, which is what it needs to infiltrate your system.
I'd recommend running some virus scanners or something regardless to ensure there's nothing suspicious.
I keep getting the BeeAware update and think I just need to remove it. Am I correct?
