Itunes keeps freezing

Hello,

Recently my itunes keeps freezing after I start a song and wont quit even when I try to force quit.

My itunes library is on an external hard drive.

I havent noticed this problem before until the last couple days.

What could be the problem?

I have also tried to reinstall the latest itunes, but still hasn't solved the problem.

I'm having the same problem.

Right after I updated my iPad to 3.2.1 iTunes does nothing but freeze if I try to sync my iPad or iPhone. Thera an update to the iPhone but I cannot do it because iTunes freezes.

I've left it freezing for an hour with no relief. Also, have library on ext. Hard drive.

Any solutions?

I had this problem too so I tried dragging the itunes icon to the trash to delete it and then I reinstalled itunes. This didnt work. Then I deleted itunes using the recommended method in the apple support info (you need to go into the library directory and delete a bunch of separate files). Then I reinstalled itunes and now everything works again!
