stop Safari from launching on startup
I no longer use Safari as my web browser. How can I stop it from launching upon startup? I am running Mac OS 10.11.6, which is the most recent OS that will run on my older Mac (I can not upgrade).

Have you gone to System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if Safari is in your login items?
If you quit Safari before shutting down, does it launch the next time you restart?
See if going to System Preferences/General and checking Close windows when quitting an app helps.
Of course, but Safari is not listed. Surprise!
Sys Pref, Close Windows did the trick. Thanks!
You are welcome.
