Slow réponses
Just bought a new MacBook Air running Mojave OS - when I use websites I often get slow responses - why?

I would suspect the DNS servers that your new notebook is configured to use may be the culprit. By default, they are provided by the ISP that is providing the Internet service.
One simple test is to change to public DNS servers, like OpenDNS or Google DNS to see if this helps.
Another thing to check is this only an issue with the current network that your MBA is connected to or when connected to any wireless network.
Finally, are you using a VPN connection to connect your MBA to the Internet?
