I am trying to reinstall an adobe program. my iMac is asking for an admin password, but it's not accepting my password. i tried to do it going through 'users and groups' but i cannot find users and groups anywhere, either in system preferences or in the finder. how do i fix this? thanks.
If you go to System Preferences/View, does Users & Groups show there? If you select Customize, can you add it to the System Preferences layout.
If the above doesn't show under the View menu, try clicking on the box with the dots in it which is to the right of the forward/back arrows.
okay yes i found it there. i am unable to change my password though. it asks for old password, but the password i have been trying to enter is the old password and it won't accept it. there is no password hint entered. it's like all the info is gone. i recently had some work done, maybe this messed with things.
