Yes, Pages was a built in app that I deleted from my iPhone. Nine months later I've bought an iMac desktop and if there is a Pages app built in I can't find it. However, Pages isn't what I want; I want similar to an MS Word program. I notice reviews from others citing Pages as mediocre and incompatible with their work saved in MS programs.

I've been searching in App Store and also Cnet. The only free app that looks worth trying is "Document Writer." Others that are specifically MS Office suite are expensive. If I'd known what I was giving up when I switched from a PC to a Mac I might not've done it.

Any further suggestions appreciated.

Very helpful. You're 3rd person to suggest Libre. Earlier I had learned of LibreOfficeVanilla in Apps store for $15.99 and was considering it. I have now downloaded L Ofc (not vanilla) from link you sent. However, so far am unable to install. I tried drag-and-drop per instructions but it's not appearing when I then open the Apps icon. More help? Thanks.
