I have an iPad Mini, original version, using IOS 9.3.5(13G36). (Thanks for not supporting system upgrades on the iPad Mini, Apple). I plugged my iPad into my Mac (IOS 10.13.6) and transferred a number of my photos from the iPad to the Mac (Mac Photos Version 3.0(3291.13.210) successfully. However a number of the photos were not transferred successfully, with minimal explanation given in the error window (again, thanks Apple, for the clear explanation). Following is the error message window I keep getting:

How do I transfer the remaining photos from my iPad to my Mac? What the heck does the error window mean, and why is no help given on how to resolve the problem? The photos are of a recent European holiday, and I truly hope that I can access them in the future on my Mac.

Once again, I am forced to spend hours Googling, YouTubing and using Apple support venues to try and resolve what should be a simple transfer process. Why can't Apple software work the first time without incurring angst on a poor old Senior Citizen.

Help please!!

Try to import the photos to a folder on your Mac with Image Capture instead of Photos.

If this succeeds, you can check, if there is something problematic with the photos.

Frequently the reason for the above error message is an incompatible file system format on the volume with the Photos Library. Where are you storing your Photos Library? Is it on the startup drive or on an external drive?
