Had to reset password on itunes and after I sign back in on my apple tv it gives me the code on my phone to enter on apple tv as part of the 2 part authentication, after I enter that it wants apple ID and password again just keeps runing me in a circle Thank you
When using 2 factor authentication on an older device you need to enter the password and code together, and there is a time limit. To make the best use of that time request the code after the password has been entered.

Then you are exceeding the time limit. That is the latest firmware for the 2nd gen, as the model is obsolete
Has exactly done it as described (several times), but had no success.
