Restoring iPhone 6s, I'm stuck on the "Press home to upgrade" white screen with a broken home button.
I've tried a lot of solutions suggested with some googling.
- Restart it a bunch of times.
- Restart it while holding the power button.
- Restart it while holding the power button and holding the volume down button.
- Restart it while holding the power button and holding the volume up button (not really suggested, but figured worth trying).
- Restart it while holding the power button for 5 seconds and holding the volume down button for 5/10/15 seconds during && after reboot.
- Plug it in and see if ReiBoot for mac recognizes it.
- Plug it in and see if ReiBoot for windows recognizes it.
- Plug it in and see if RecBoot for windows recognizes it.
- Plug it in and see if iTunes for windows recognizes it.
- Cry and yell at puppies.
- Plug it in to a mac and see if it is under the device tree.
So it seems to me that this is the case. Upon restore, apple products get to a point where if the home button doesn't work, they are barred from restoring. Accessibility settings aren't accessible through the gui, only one screen saying to press a button.
Is this true? Am I missing something? I've tried a bunch of cords which all recognize my Xs, on both of my macs and my windows machines, which all recognize my Xs. But nothing recognizes the 6s at this point of its reboot. It was recognized by at least 2/3 of these devices beforehand. It isn't the port, it is a software problem. How can I fix this? If it involves having to go to an Apple Store, there is a problem with software releases that needs attention.
