lost iTunes list

recently, 6 months ago, i had my original hard drive replaced. now i cannot find my iTunes playlists, is there a way to recover these files or are they lost forever?

Did you make a backup before changing the hard drive? They should be in the old Home folder / Music / iTunes folder.

The playlists are in the iTunes library in a .itl file. It's unlikely they will be in iCloud. If you have access to your old hard disk, you could put it in an enclosure and try to copy the iTunes folder from it. Or it may be possible to recover the library from an iOS device.
