Beddit 3.5 vs 3.0

I got a Beddit 3.0 for Christmas, but I see the current version is 3.5. I want to know what the differences are before the window for returns closes.

The Beddit website is not helpful. It says nothing about the differences and points users to Apple.com for support (Apple owns Beddit).

Unfortunately, Apple's website and these forums are less than helpful. Not only does Apple not even have a category set for Beddit so we can ask questions in the right place, but users (who obviously have no idea what Beddit even is) are telling others with Beddit questions to contact Beddit.

The App Store reviews for the 3.0 app are fairly good, but the 3.5 app has a TON of 1-star reviews, with users complaining that Apple *removed* functionality from the previous version.

Google searches turn up articles that talk about 3.5, but I can't find an article that talks about what changed from 3.0 to 3.5.

Since Apple doesn't want to see to help their Beddit customers, I hope someone here might be able to.

Cheers!

For the benefit of those who are researching Beddit, according to "Dan," an Apple employee I visited with via the support chat on Apple.com:

"I have checked my resources here and found out that the feature set is mostly the same, but the 3.5 is the first release of the Beddit since the company was purchased by Apple."

"And while there have been improvements to the hardware (in design and quality) and software (in usability) it’s still essentially the same product functionally."

"The 3.0 Beddit was wrapped in cloth, while the 3.5 appears to have a soft plastic casing. Maintaining it’s thinness at just 2mm."

"Also, an additional information, it integrates better with Apple Watch for notifications, reminders, tips to improve sleeping health and assistance with sleep goals."

"And it integrates a bit more smoothly with the health app."

I mentioned that at the current time, Apple's Beddit app (version 3.5) is being hammered in user reviews in the app store, getting mostly 1-star reviews, while the Beddit app (version 3.0) has better reviews. The main complaint with 3.5 is that functionality has been removed from the product, such as an alarm.

The Apple employee responded by saying, "Those products that you see on the website are tested and checked up to the highest standards before being sold on the website itself."

That's a canned, fluff answer.

I didn't say people were saying it is defective; I'm sure the product works fine, it just doesn't do what previous versions did.

Here's the problem:

Places like Best Buy are still selling Beddit 3.0, and it is well enough reviewed.

However, the Apple employee says future versions of the Beddit app will never support it, so you are basically being abandoned by Apple for buying an Apple product.

The alternative, if you want to buy Apple, is to buy 3.5 and hope Apple grows the new app in ways that make 3.5 as good as 3.0 was.
