Frozen Macbook Pro

I was trying to sync music to my iPhone when iTunes froze. So I force quit iTunes and now my Macbook is frozen.

I have the newest MacBook Pro, so I cannot remove the battery (to my knowledge).
I have the pinwheel, but can still move the cursor around. It remains the pinwheel everywhere.
My dock is gone and the cursor will not bring it up.
My spotlight box is open, but is frozen.
I have window asking me if I want to shut down, restart, sleep, but I cannot select any of the options.
I have tried holding the power button down to no avail.
The computer is still going into power saving displays.
The bottom of the computer near the back is hot.

unplug your mac from power source
press and hold the power button down until fans quit working.

if above isn't working for you.

take the mac to the apple retail store
or

unplug the battery yourself being extra careful not to damage anything inside

keep us posted.
