Gmail emails
When activated my new XR they transferred my IPhone 5 info via iCloud transfer and the gmail emails didnt transfer ? Why ?

Gmail is not stored in an iCloud backup or synced via iCloud. It's not an Apple service or product.
You simply need to set up your Gmail account and connect to download your messages.
