Broken screen glass/display - touch still works fine

Today my new iphone xs fell from very low to the floor, and somehow got broken.

The glass is partially damaged, the touch screen still works.

The display sometimes works regular and also everything else (camera, face id, sensors, etc), and sometimes goes almost whole screen black apart from a little rectangle on the top of the screen.

When it's black you can see that the touch still works fine, and it can change from regular screen to black screen spontaneously every few minutes.

Which part probably got damaged? Should i replace the whole screen display+touch or can i maybe replace only the specific part who got damaged and stay with a little broken glass to make it cheapr to fix?

In the video you can see the black screen with a little display state which the iphone is most of the time in right now:

It's difficult to diagnose that kind of issue remotely, sorry.

First of all, if your device is still working, I would make a full backup of of its content.

Then I would make an appointment at your most convenient Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider and have your XS inspected. After checking it, they'll give you all the available options:
