Update Apple ID Settings

I receive the prompt to ‘Update Apple ID Settings’ with the advice that ‘Some account services will not be available until you sign in again’. I enter the password and the sign in code as requested, but the iPad just freezes up with the wait icon running endlessly. Any ideas on how to fix this noting several others seem to have the same issues.

Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Try a forced restart.

Reset Device

If you are using IOS 12, I read a post several days ago where someone posted they had talked to Apple Support about this and were told it is a known bug that Apple is trying to correct. If you click Cancel, does the window go away? You can also try signing out of iCloud and back in which has worked for some people.  Do you have the latest IOS update?
