Unable to connect wireless HP5520 printer to my new iPad

This printer was connected successfully to my old iPad that crashed. I am unable to connect my new iPad to the printer. It asks for a password. I have tried the router password and it does not work, and I am sure I am using the right one. Is there another password I should use? it would not connect automatically. Help, I am getting frustrated.

I recently got it connected by unplugging the router, turning off the printer and iPad and then reversing the previous steps. Thank you for your help. I just walked away from the problem for awhile and then read your help which got me motivated to tackle it again. I had 2 previous iPads and I do not remember getting so frustrated. By the way, I did those steps several times!

Thank you!

Greetings Cheetos15,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're unable to use your printer to print wirelessly with your iPad.

To print from an AirPrint supported printer, you'll want to first connect that printer and your iPad to the same Wi-Fi network: Connect an AirPrint printer to a Wi-Fi network

After the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network, follow these steps to print wirelessly with your iPad: Use AirPrint to print from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If those steps don't work as expected, then let's have you follow the troubleshooting suggestions from the following guide: If you can't print from your Mac or iOS device

Let me know how it goes from here.

Cheers.
