Email notifications not working

None of my email accounts are working like I have them set up.

I agree...something has been broken with the notifications...

  1. My apple watch used to get all notifications which enabled me to keep my phone in my pocket. Now, as of ios 12, for Apple Email only, I am getting sound alerts on my iphone...and sometimes my apple watch. This has happened on my apple watch 1, and now my apple watch 4.
  2. When I go to the phone to see the email alert (because it's not on my watch), it is not showing on the lock screen, and therefore I must go into the email program to see the new email...very inefficient!
  3. If I have my phone on when I receive an email...I don't get a banner alert...just the sound alert...so I cannot click on the banner to get to my email...once again, very inefficient!

Yes, I have all the correct settings for the apple watch and the iphone. Something has changed and it is very frustrating.

I followed these instructions from another thread as a workaround. Notifications work correctly (including on the apple watch) as a result.

  1. Go into your Mail app > click edit in the top right > select Add Mailbox
  2. Select all of the sub-folders in your mailbox you need to receive push notifications for and select Done
  3. Go into the Settings app > select Mail > select Notifications
  4. You should see an option that says " Favorite Mailboxes"
  5. Open Favorite Mailboxes and configure your preferences for mail notifications.
  6. After you finish you should now be able to receive notifications for those sub-folders based on the notification preferences you set in Favorite Mailboxes

stopped working again. made no changes. already had the settings that jlangridge109 suggested.

i have now tried to turn off all notifications for the exchange mail...and it still gives the sound when the email arrives, but no other notification. same problem as when i have all the notifications turned on.

i do have an iphone update waiting...i'll try to do that tonight.

I was wrong about the update...didn't have one.

A picture would be difficult to show what's not happening...I may have to put a video together.

I have all notifications turned off for the Exchange in the Apple Mail App. Even though this is the case, I am getting an audible alert that I receive an email. No other alert occurs. This is the same behavior if I turn back on alerts for exchange. Only the audible alert occurs...no banner, no lock screen, no apple watch.
