Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I see you have a question about using Find My iPhone for kids.
Using Find My iPhone location sharing would require being on the same Family Sharing account: Share your location with your family. However, you might have the option to Set up and use Find My Friends instead. This would let you share locations, though you wouldn't be able to disable or find a lost device like you would with Find My iPhone.
