I get the notification for the software update 12.1.2 that fixes bugs on iPhone X. I

My phone is iPhone 6. It keeps reminding me to update.

Even if your device is not one mentioned in the bug fixes, each iOS update usually includes some security fixes or changes as well - see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201222. Those security patches would apply to any device running iOS 12.
