Podcast App has given me a popup message that it requres me to enable Explicit content but

But when I enabled explicity in the Setting > Screen Time, it didn’t change anything, so I deleted the Podcast app and tried to reinstall it but now in the App Store the app is shows as downloaded and shpws “Open” but when I tap on open, it gives me an error saying I should desable restriction. And I cannot download it. It shows only in Apple Store and status is only open.

Restrictions and explicit are two separate settings.

  • The explicit setting is to stop Podcasts (and other media) with explicit content from being downloaded
  • Restrictions is to prevent the apps being downloaded

It looks to me as though you have Restrictions turned on on your iPod.

  1. On your iPod, go to Settings/Screen Time/Content & Privacy Restrictions/iTunes & App Store Purchases
  2. on the Store Purchases & Re-Downloads screen, you will probably find that Installing Apps is set to Don't Allow
  3. change Installing Apps to Allow

That should then cause you to be able to download the app.

To restrict explicit content, you need to go into:

  1. Settings/Screen Time/Content & Privacy Restrictions/Content Restrictions

Under the heading Allow Store Content, go into Music, Podcasts & News and change it from Clean to Explicit

Don't forget, on that menu, you are restricting explicit.

The message on your iPod states that Restrictions are enabled, so that's why the app will not re-download. Until the Restrictions is turned off (or at least, the Installing Apps restriction is turned off) you will not be able to re-download the app, which you deleted.

Try the steps again (follow them very closely) and then re-start the iPod.

I understand but I have done all the above and I steel can't download the Podcast app. The podcast app initially was giving me an explicit error I have put allow explicit and whatever you have suggested above, then I removed the Podcast App and then tried to go to AppStore and re-install it, but in the AppStore it just shows "OPEN" when I tap on open it gives me the "Restriction Enabled" message that I have posted above.

I also have done the above steps you have mentioned but no changes so far, still I don't have the Podcast app on my iphone and I still get the same error.
