iMessages

In order to get iMessages on all my devices, I read that I have to activate Forward Text Messages on my iPhone; however, that option isn't on my phone. I have a 6s Plus.

Would iMessage still work on my Mac or iPad if I switch to a non-iPhone I use iMessage on my Mac and iPad as well as, obviously, my iPhone, but if I were to buy a different phone (Android, Samsung, etc), would the text message forwarding still work (Ignoring the fact that SMS forwarding only works about 10-30% of the time to begin with)? Meaning could I still send messages from my Mac or iPad as I do now? Is it linked to my phone number or the iPhone, I guess is what I'm asking.

Will iMessage forwarding work on a iPad2? How to forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your iPad, iPod touch or Mac - Apple Support Will the above work on an iPad2? Ie sending iMessages automatically from a iPhone on the latest ios to an iPad2 that cannot now be updated - it’s on iOS 9.3.5. Many thanks

Same apple id in all devices same wifi network see the ht bellow there You will find what You are looking for.
