Inability to stop workouts when wet

I’ve gone back and forth with smart watches over the past 2 years. I work out a lot; and when I do, I sweat...a lot. I love most of the features offered with the Apple Watch. But I refuse to wear it to work out because I cannot get the touch screen to do anything at the end of my workout. When I swim, I cannot get the screen to respond to complete the workout until I get my finger and the screen completely dry. How can a company so technology advanced suck so much at this? It’s so frustrating to not be able to complete a run and have the clock still going after I’ve crossed the finish line. I cannot possibly be the only person with this issue.

Solution is to depress the crown and side button at the same time. That pauses the workout. You can also depress them again to resume. After you pause you can stop the workout when the screen and fingers are dry after removing the water lock if it was turned on.
