Why is there a flashing battery on my iHome alarm clock the iHome iBT297

My new (as of December 26, 18) iHome alarm clock has a flashing battery signal on the display. I have it plugged in, why is it there? How can I remove it? The model number is iBT297. (The included device is wrong and I can't change it to the correct one because I couldn't find it.

Thank you.

That isn't an Apple product. These forums are for help with Apple products.

Didn't the device come with a user manual?

Perhaps the device uses a battery backup if the power goes out so you don't lose your configurations for the device. So it is alerting you that there is no backup battery installed. That's just a guess.
