Mac mini 2018 & Firewire audio interface issues

Hi,

I have just bought a 2018 Mac mini & am struggling to get a clean audio signal through my Motu 8Pre Firewire audio interface.

I have a Firewire 9 pin to 6 pin cable going into an Apple Firewire to Thunderbolt adaptor, going into a Thunderbolt to an Apple USB-C adaptor.

When I fire up Logic& try to record audio, the Left channel is completely clean, though the Right channel is full of digital interference.

I have updated the Motu drivers to the latest available on line & checked there are no audio cable issues - though still to no avail.

I'm wondering if the Motu 8Pre Firewire audio interface is actually compatible even with the adaptors - or maybe the Firewire 6-9pin lead is partially faulty which is causing the problem?

Any advice / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your reply - I have to admit I was suspecting the same thing, however I have managed to resolve it by doing a hard reset on the Motu 8Pre following some guidance that Motu have listed on their site.

All working fine now.

Thanks again
