Forward Delete on iPad Pro 11 Smart Keyboard folio

The older keyboards would allow you hold down the Fn key and press the delete key and it would delete characters in front of the curser. The new keyboard does not have an Fn key. But the world key that enables you to change keyboards works the same way. If you hold down the world key, which is on the lower left side of the keyboard left of the control key, and press the delete key, it will delete characters to the right of the cursor. Just pressing the delete key deletes characters to the left of the cursor.

This is a great tip for getting back the forward delete on the new iPad Pro Smart Folio keyboard.


However, it is a good idea to remove any other keyboards so that you only have one (i.e. remove the emoji keyboard). Otherwise the alternative keyboards pop up when you press the world key...
