I just hooked up a first generation Apple TV and every movie had a fee. Is this the norm for Apple TV?
If you have a small black box then it's a 2nd gen.
If you are accessing the iTunes store then yes, you will either be renting or purchasing movies.
You can use 3rd party services like Netflix, which will have a monthly fee for unlimited streaming of movies offered
