How should I know if email from Apple is authentic?

I’ve just got an email from support@apple.com stating my Apple ID has been locked. My gut feeling says something is not write as the whole email is with very funny font.

how should I know if the email is real?

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message, as an attachment to Apple.
