How do I transfer music from my iTunes account on my MacBook to my daughter's iPhone? Every time I connect her device to my computer it wants to restart her iPhone. I just want to transfer a cd!

Try rebooting both computer and iPhone, unlock the iPhone before connecting to USB and respond positively to any request to trust the computer. Does the phone reset, or is there an error message, or does it now show in iTunes?
iPhone isn't designed to be synced or manually manged from multiple libraries. Has she added media from another computer? You may need to recover what is on it first before new media can be added safely.
