Take it to an authorized service center for evaluation.

Same thing happened to me. By itself. It was on my desk and self cracked in front of me. $1000 to repair. Now 10 months later, screen breaks down again. Not a crack, but is purple only. $1000 to repair and waiting 4 WEEKS (still not returned!!!) to get it repaired as Apple had to repair more stuff under warranty too. The MacBook Pro is probably my last Apple. 10% of the time I owned this $4000 computer its been with Apple.

All issues just happening standing still on a desk. Not a scratch on the unit. This is due to a production problem for sure. I've never had any problems with apple before, but this is crazy bad.

I have some serious questions for you. By that I mean I am genuinely curious, wanting to learn, and hoping your answers will give me insight I do not have :

  1. If you purchase a vehicle (let's say it's a Ford for the sake of argument), and the windshield cracks while it's parked overnight. You did not purchase insurance on the vehicle. Who pays the repair bill? Ford? You? Why do you think that?
  2. How did you decide to not purchase AppleCare Plus?
  3. Did anyone pressure you - either way - during your decision to not purchase AppleCare Plus?
  4. In hindsight, doesn't AppleCare Plus coverage seem pretty cheap now?

Thanks for helping to enlighten me, and good luck!
