Apple XR number change to primary number and won't send out going text.

How to correct this error or change phone to primary number?

Number not available I recently upgraded to iPhone 10 but just before a factory reset of my old iPhone 7 I noticed when trying to send message from the 10 that I get a (number not available. Which number would you like to send the message with ?) Message, primary is the only option but get an red error next to the message. Messages is stuck with the old phone number I changed my phone service provider while retaining my old number. I had a temporary phone number for 5 days and I made the error to register it with Messages. When the new phone service provider received my old number Messages from Iphone 7 plus remained stuck with the temporary number. What can I do?
