6 rings before voicemail on iPhone 6 = 3 rings to voicemail on Panasonic link2cell.

My iPhone 6 works very well with my link to cell except for one thing: When a call comes in, the iPhone rings six times before going to voicemail but that translates to only three rings on the link to cell Panasonic before voicemail picks up. I am often not able to get to a handset before the three rings have taken place. Consequently, I miss a lot of phone calls. My link to cell is a KX – TG 365. I have the ringer on for the iPhone only because that allows me to get to a handset quickly enough to beat voicemail.

How long it takes to go to voicemail is not based on the number of rings. It's based on time. That's controlled by your carrier. The transfer from your phone to the Panasonic ringing is apparently eating up quite a bit of time.

You can call your carrier and see if they can extend the ring time, but remember that will cause your iPhone to ring longer when not connected to the panasonic system.

Thank you very much for your explanation of why this is happening.

I have called my carrier, PagePlus Cellular, several times about this. The first two times I called, I was told that the problem was with my iPhone - that it is not Android. They would not budge from that position when I told them that I had done research and absolutely no one else had said that it was my phone that was the problem. The last time I called I was given the same answer. That was when I worked my way up the chain of people. The last person I spoke to spent quite a lot of time on the phone with me and with Verizon, which is the carrier that PagePlus Cellular uses. The upshot was that Verizon can only provide six rings to my phone in this area, so that seemsto be that.

Your explanation that the transfer from my phone to the Panasonic is eating up time makes a lot of sense. Now I guess I need to figure out how to speed up the transfer!

Any suggestions? Could it be that I have too many handsets? (I have 6.)
