Macbook air and fortnite

I have a macbook air and I am trying to download fortnite. It tells me that my software is outdated (OS X 10.11) and it needs OS X 10.12 or higher. I looked everywhere but nowhere in the app store or elsewhere can I find how to download a newer versions we can finish fortnite download on it. If anyone had the same issues or knows the answer I would really appreciate it. Thank you
