According to About this Mac, Nikon Z6 raw files should be suppported on my iMac running High Sierra. However, I cannot open these files nor can I preview them. Is there still an update coming? My 2010 iMac is too old for Mojave. (And I still love Aperture!)

FWIW, Despite being listed in System Reports, High Sierra won't open Z6 RAW files although Mojave will. Again, I suspect because of a lack of Metal 2 support.
You can use Adobe DNG converter 11.1 to convert them to a format High Sierra can read.
Since my iMac failed, I am using a 2011 Mac mini without the discrete graphics card. Affinity Photo will open a Nikon Z6 camera raw (NEF) image, but Finder, Quick Look, Preview, and Photos refuse to open the file on High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G4015).
Thanks, then it must be the lack of Metal 2 support. I was puzzled because the system report said the Z6 was supported. I can open them with Adobe Camera Raw, Nikon Capture NX-D or ON-1 Photo Raw. I now export them as Tiffs from Capture NX-D and import them in Aperture, but hoped there would be a way to import them directly.
Welcome. No but as VikingOSX mentions, Affinity Photo will open them. The Metal 2 comment was conjecture on my part. However, I think the fact that Z6 files are mentioned in RAW support in system report is an error on Apple's part.
