For several reasons it won't work. If it only works on the G4 it is probably a gray colored, machine specific disk which won't work on any model Mac other than the model G4 you have. Also your G series computer dates from before 2006 and the 2008 computer would have come with a Snow Leopard disc and wouldn't accept what probably came with a G vintage computer.
I am not familiar with recovery boot, never having has to use it with my computer. If you have tried it and it fails then obviously it isn't working for some reason, as I said likely because one was never created (you don't say what OSX version you are using). I believe your computer pre-dates Internet boot so you really have no option but to get the original DVD, particularly since you say you wish "reset" this.
Why are you "resetting" this? Does it boot to another OSX still or is there some other problem with the computer? What do you mean by "reset"?
You can contact Apple Support (not sales) and see if they can supply you with a replacement disc, though it is possible they have been tossing them out for what is considered an obsolete computer.
It sounds like you managed to install some malware. Try scanning with Malwarebytes (free in manual mode). It also sounds like you installed either a virus scanning tool or a "cleaning" tool such as MacKeeper or CleanMyMac.
If you want to, you could address the actual issue. Doing a reset (erase and re-installation of the system) is more a Windows way of dealing with this kind of issue. I'd say in 95% of the "slow Mac" topics we see here somebody has installed a virus scanner, or a cleaning tool, or managed to get Malware (probably along with the virus scanner or fake flash installer, or something). It is possible Etrecheck will work on your computer if you wish to let it have a look so we can see if the report tells us something.

To save posting really long reports to the regular window, use the "paper" icon in the editor bar.
Malwarebytes - https://www.malwarebytes.com/pricing/ - There are different versions available depending upon what features you want. For a single removal without ongoing monitoring you can probably use the free version.
You can purchase Mac OS 10.6.8 which should work.
I think with a notebook of that age you have to reset it using the original DVD, particularly if a recovery partition had never been created when installing a system version that does use one.
What if you don’t have the disc I do but the one I have only works on a iMac g4
Sorry about that I’m on 10.7 lion
I’m resetting it because it seems slow and I got a but on safari and it’s not showing the correct google it just a fake one for home page
