Reminders marked Completed not disappearing

The first post with this title was in February of 2016. The most recent comment in that thread was just a few days ago, and it was from another person who has the largest phone model but is also having the same problem. So it is still happening with new phones having the current/updated iOS version. I can’t believe that this is still not fixed after two years.

To reiterate the issue: Completed reminders do not disappear from view when Hide Completed is selected. The user must hit Show Completed and then Hide Completed again.

How can we submit this as a bug to get a fix? It is not user error.

I always close all apps after use and they get hidden then. Unfortunately actions need a screen “event” to make a change and radio buttons are not usually events like hitting the show/hide or closing the app. Pull to refresh could do it but that doesn’t work either. Needs work by the UI designers I guess.

Thank you for your answer, Pete. Disappointing, but at least I know I am not alone or just missing something. I was addressing the bug by clicking "Show Completed" and then "Hide Completed." for the reminder to disappear. And I now know from your reply that there is another way to get around the bug: close the app and reopen.

I appreciate learning the concepts of and terms for "radio button" and "event." So now I understand the reason why they don't immediately disappear upon being marked as completed. Now, if Apple would just redesign the app to address that very obvious shortcoming. I mean, my old Palm Treo from the Carter Administration could do it. Why not Apple? Geez.

I wish Apple would address this.

But if I'm not mistaken, you are toggling back and forth between "show completed" and "hide completed"--which I already said in my first email was the only way I could make it go away. The point is, you shouldn't have to do that. If one is in "show completed" mode, then as soon as you hit the circle next to the task to mark it as completed, the team should immediately disappear and go to "completed" folder. With no additional action on my part.

In any design of Forms; Radio buttons, Check Boxes, Drop Down Menu are mere selection buttons. Action trigger is provided at the end of all selections.

The user may want to perform many actions based on his selection Show/Hide (In this Case), Archive, Delete (As kam3315 suggested), Flag, Move etc. The developer may have kept option open for adding the above features in future based on number of feedbacks received from the community. So you are free to give yours.

Even in mail When you select edit, Radio Button pops up and the user selects multiple mails and chooses the action required such as Flag, Mark as Read and so on.

Overall, it was indeed a fruitful discussion.

Thanks to both of you, Kam3315 & peter_watt.
