How to insert serial number into final cut pro

got a mac pro and have a serial number for final cut pro that was purchased from before. i downloaded the free trial of final cut pro right now but how do i avoid buying final cut on the app store and insert the serial number in order to have the purchased version of final cut?

Macbook (2016 or later)

App Store applications don't have serial numbers. They're tied to the Apple ID that purchased them. Your serial number may be from legacy versions of Final Cut, which don't apply to FCPX.
