Disk warrior

I was told by an apple technical support person to buy this program to rebuild a external seagate hard drive. After running for several days, it stopped running and says error 2150,2:2955

Still cannot access the hard drive files. any ideas or input? I really need all the photos off of this hard drive. also, all my other files.

This is probably not the time to tell you about how important it is to maintain at least one data backup. I went through a similar experience with a hard drive that chose to fail the same day my young child was rushed to the hospital with a life threatening illness. The photos of my child were priceless, and I didn't have a backup.

Since you purchased Disk Warrior I suggest turning to them for assistance regarding the error code you received. Their web site claims that they give priority to questions submitted via their web site.

If you need to recover the data from your hard drive and Disk Warrior isn't working, then you may need to turn to a data recovery service which is much more expensive, but if your data is important like mine was, then you don't have many choices. Perform a search using 'hard drive data recovery' and you will see a long list of companies that offer recovery services.

Good luck with the data recovery. When you recover your photos make sure you back them up, even if it's just to a USB memory stick.

Yeah... what iCare said is true. Disc Warrior can be helpful but you should contact them if you have problems when you use it and you get a certain error. You may consider your seagate drive as totally hooped , eg not salvageable.. what worked for me was data rescue 3. ( no, not free) other than that, you may have to take it to a data recovery company and pay their prices. Sadly , hard drives, Whatever flavor you like( regular, fusion, SSD) can and do fail usually without warning so having a regular backup is good, happens to everyone
