Issues Updating Apple ID Settings on Mac OS Mojave

My MacBook Pro recently alerted me in my iCloud settings, that I needed to "Update Apple ID Settings" - noting that "Some account services will not be available until you sign in again." So, I clicked Continue, followed the prompt to enter my Apple ID password (definitely correct), and clicked OK. It then takes me back to the previous iCloud settings page with the notification to update still there. Same place as before:

Does anyone know how to get past this?

Photos on my Mac are no longer syncing from iCloud and it started around when this notification popped up, so I assume that is one of the "services" which is not available.
