iPhone X broken Camera

Hello, I recently purchased a second hand IPhone X. All was fine until I dropped it a few days ago, (from a height of about 50cm with a tech21 case) and something I had yet to see before happened. The entire camera bump on the back fell off, the faceplate covering the back dual camera broke off entirely. At first I could kind of click it back in and it would stay temporarily, now it won’t stay and I have resulted to sticky taping it back on. I went to the apple store yesterday to try get it repaired, I was told there is nothing they can do, and was then offered to buy a brand new iPhone. This obviously isn’t ideal, so he then suggested I go to a mobile phone repair kiosk, the man at this store told me that it is something only the apple store can fix. So now I’m in a bit of a difficult situation, as I don’t want to buy a new phone, but apparently I have no other option. I feel that this is not the best customer support and that this accident that happened is not common, and was possibly a manufacturing error with the phone to begin with. Anyway I wonder if anyone has any advice for me, otherwise I’m just going to have to cough up another $800+. Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Apple cover manufacturing defects not users dropping their phone.

I don’t think it is the best customer support because this is something that should not happen, it is a very uncommon and rare accident to happen to the iPhone X, as I was unable to find anyone else with this issue online. So for them to offer me the same blanket solution they offer for issues such as broken glass etc. seems a little bit lazy to me. Everyone I spoke to at the store told me they had never seen it before, and then the only help they can offer me is forcing me to buy a new one from them.
