iPod Classic connection problems

Hi all,

Using an iPod Classic with iTunes 12.9.2.5 on a 2015 MacBook Pro. OS 10.14.2

When connecting the iPod, I see the icon on the desktop for several seconds and then it disappears. I do see the icon on the iTunes screen when open, can open the iPod, but can't edit content.

Any words of wisdom? TIA

Once connected to iTunes select the icon that appears to the right of the media drop down tool. From here you can change the existing sync selections or switch between automatic syncing or manual management of the device. You don't edit content on a synced device directly, but instead change the lists that it syncs with.
