How do you actually turn off input monitoring LOGIC X?

OK, I have used logic for 15 years, and just now i have a situation where i want to have a headphone mix with ONLY click. NO input monitoring at all. I have read every tutorial i can find, and whatever i do, i get the sound of the mics in the headphones. I dont want that. Toggled software monitoring, no dif. Toggling the "I" button on the track does nothing. Going into the routing on my focusrite clarrett 8PreX does nothing. Can not get rid of the mic sound in the headphones. What am i missing? what do all of the tutorials and explainations miss? thanks in advance:)

Logic can't do anything about hardware monitoring that's built into your audio interface, if you've disabled software monitoring in Logic and do not have the "I" Inputmonitoring button enabled the Audio is not going through Logic. Lookup Hardware Monitoring or Zero Latency Monitoring in your Audio Interface manual.
