Display issues on MBP 15" 2018
I purchased a 2018 15" MBP (2.6GHz i7, 16 GB Ram, and 560x) this summer, and absolutely love it. Unfortunately, though, ever since I got it, there have been some small display glitches every now and then. At first, I thought I was just seeing things, but this problem has repeated itself. Occasionally, while I'm watching a video (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Safari, Chrome, local .mp4/.mkv files, VLC, and quicktime player all have had this error) I will see a pixelation effect, almost like some of the compression cells of the video are corrupted. More rare, but still repeated, I have seen an effect where (in fullscreen) the video shrinks down to a 5th or 6th its size and goes to the upper left corner, with the rest of a screen a pure green.
I have tried many things to resolve this issue (and diagnostics), but no luck so far. I don't know whether the effect occurs only on the iGPU or the 560X (I'll check the next time this comes up). I have reset the SMC and run apple diagnostics, but no errors were found and it hasn't resolved the issue.
Are there any remaining steps to take, or should I try to get apple to replace the laptop (I have appleCare +)?
