Your Apple Watch Series 3 has a water resistance rating up to 50 meters, however Apple suggests you only use it for shallow water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean. Your Apple Watch shouldn't be used for scuba diving, water skiing, or other activities involving high velocity water or submersion below shallow depth.
