Safari browser is not support WebP format, is there any reason for the same?
WebP was added to Firefox for desktop and Android, but it will not work in iOS. This is because Firefox for iOS works on Safari's WebKit engine.
Is there any way we can sort the issue

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
The problem is not that Safari does not support WebP, it's that it fails to use the fallback image, or send bad hints to the server.
I really hope the Safari team decides to change this. Some developers are moving ahead with WebP without a fallback option since even Firefox supports it now. Safari and iPhone users are going to be left behind in 2019 if Apple doesn't make some changes.

WebP was designed by Google for use in Google Chrome. Unfortunately, WebP is not supported in Apple's Safari web browser.

Yes, that must be the reason why every other relevant Web Browser supports (or will soon support) WebP and Safari not *facepalm*...
