Not through USB no.

A 2012 or 2013 MacBook Pro would have Thunderbolt/mini display ports you can use for that. This adapter should work: Belkin 4K Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter - Apple

USB 3.0 can not be converted to HDMI. The data rate required is too high, and the internal connectability from display Hardware to USB do not exist inside your Mac.

maximum resolution from the ThunderBolt port directly, or adapted to DisplayPort family, HDMI, DVI is 2560 by 1600. VGA is also possible, but will likely be lower.
