Gray Bars in Screen Time Usage Chart

What do the gray bars represent? Is it when you pick up the phone and scroll through the notifications WITHOUT unlocking the screen? You know how you just read the message previews w/o going into the app itself....

Screen Time: what is the difference between Daily Usage and Usage. Hi there, Hoping someone can help me please. I am trying to work out the daily usage for my daughters phone. When I look at the weekly usage the heading is 'Usage' and it gives me a number. However the is a greyed out bit at the top of the bar graph. When I click on the day again the heading changes to Daily Usage and gives me a much greater figure. It also says her average is higher than her usage. How is that possible? Can someone please explain this to me. thanks

Notifications in screen time So I check my screen time on the daily and most of the time things are pretty accurate! Here lately the notifications under my screen time under # of pickups is always showing 1-2 more notifications than what is under the category portion. The two do not add up! I have other friends that shows up perfect..has anyone seen this before and how can I determine what notifications I am getting that is not showing up in my catergories portion?
