Oleophobic coating

Just a quick question here, is it possible to 're-coat' the iPhone 4 in the Oleophobic coating once it's worn away?

Does Apple or 3rd party companies provide a service?

Thanks

Apple doesn't and doubt that any 3rd party centers do but you can Google them to inquire. The coating is a manufacturing process.

FYI, Apple doesn't do ANY repairs of iPhones other than replacing batteries and sometimes cracked screens. All other warranty and out of warranty problems are dealt with by replacing the phones with refurbished units, or new if refurbs aren't available.

It may not be worth having the coating redone. It would be easier and probably less expensive to just replace the glass. Chances are you will never find a company with the extremely expensive equipment that would even try to do it, but if you have your mind set on it find an independent optical lab that has a licence for say nikon, zeiss, or essilor coatings (Eyeglass Lenses) and try to peak their curiosity to try it. Be prepared to replace the glass as they may damage it.

I read a post in the iPad forum where the poster said that an Apple store was able to re-apply the coating on their ipad to correct a bad spot. YOu may want to call your local apple store.

It seems that your posts are often not to the right poster. Just so you know, there's a Reply button in each post so you can reply to the appropriate poster.

Also, in your forum Settings, try setting your Topic Page View to Threaded so you can more easily follow the thread discussion, i.e. who responds to who.

Just a few tips to help out.
