Usb faisl to recognise certain devices.

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch mid 2012 non retina. One of the two USB ports shows a strange behaviour. It detects my hard disk and runs fine but not my iPhone, keyboard or sound card although it charges the iPhone or any devices connected to it. Have already done smc and Pram reset. I have also clean installed the OS but no joy. Appears to be a firmware issue. Kindly help me to fix it.
