How can I watch a movie horizontally on my iPhone?

I rented a movie but can only play it vertically on the iPhone which makes it very small. I want to play it horizontally for the full screen.

This used to be the default on the phone when in the t app. Then a few weeks ago the functionality just went away and all I can dO is watch in skinny little portrait mode. How do I watch a movie in portrait mode on my iPhone X? Ever since iOS12, I can’t seem to get the view to portrait in many apps, such as TV, Firefox and others. iPhone XiOS 12no portrait mode - stays landscape despite phones orientation.

iphones movie appletv app Movies do not change to horizontal orientation in appletv app.

Make sure ur portrait orientation lock is off
